Tim Dermody, E.I.

President & Principal Engineer

A native Portlander, Tim ran a carpentry business until he decided he wanted more of a challenge and went back to school at the Unversity of Maine for civil engineering.  Before co-founding FDCE, Tim spent 10 years with a small firm specializing in railroad and marine engineering, performing structural analysis, design, inspection, environmental permitting, surveying, drafting, clearance requests, submittal reviews, construction observations, and project management.  In that time, Tim has provided engineering services in 14 states and inspected bridges on more than 40 different railroads, in addition to numerous marine projects.

He lives in Gorham, Maine with his wife Megan and children Shay and Finn. Tim hikes, swims, fishes, and plays with his family and their dog, and occasionally sneaks away for trips with friends during deer hunting season.

Matt Donovan, E.I.

Project Engineer

Matt began building things for work at age 15 as a local handyman in Maine.  He developed that passion into an engineering career.  He is known for his keen eye in the inspection field after climbing various bridges since acquiring his degree from the University of Maine.  Matt loves inspecting almost as much as he loves playing basketball and spending time outdoors with his family, friends, and dog (a rescue mutt) named Hatchet.
