Additional Projects

Scale & Approach Spans Foundations – Savannah, Georgia

Provided foundation design and analysis, in coordination with sub consultants, for relocation of weigh-in motion scale with approach slabs.

Tunnel Reline - Smithfield, Ohio

FDCE worked with subconsultants to improve drainage and structural defects in a pair of 120+ year old unreinforced concrete lined tunnels. During the winter months, the railroad had significant problems with ice buildup that were a constant safety issue. The solution was to install a structural liner that collected water seepage between the old and new liner and deposited it into ditches at each end of the tunnel. FDCE provided inspection, construction plans, bid facilitation, and construction oversite.

Vegetation Management - Massachusetts

FDCE assists railroads in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with vegetation management along railroad right of ways in conformance with state and federal regulations. FDCE serves as the railroad’s representative in communications with state agencies and municipal boards and commissions. It is FDCE’s mission to keep railroad operations safe through a calculated approach to managing encroaching vegetation, while protecting resources and other sensitive areas as defined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts regulations.
